Elizabeth, the librarian at Gympie Campus, recently attended the Access 2010
conference in Brisbane September 2nd –
3rd, courtesy of a bursary she won as a QUT Alumni. She enjoyed
connecting and reconnecting with fellow library staff members from libraries
across Australia and
New
Zealand in many different sectors.
Topics
included the use of Web 2.0 technology in libraries, marketing in libraries,
TAFE library developments, information literacy and the future of libraries
etc. She came away with loads of information, innovative strategies and who
knows our RICS might see some of the innovations in the near future so keep an
eye out. If you are interested in checking out what this conference was all
about go to the website http://conferences.alia.org.au/access2010/index.html
and look up the program to find presenters’ papers.
